Michael Greene
About
Michael Greene, a Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox, has 35 years of diverse experience in a variety of building types such as office, residential, retail, hotel, cultural, academic, research and healthcare facilities. Since joining Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in 1985, he has worked on a number of the firm’s most complex projects throughout North America, Europe and Asia. As a managing principal of the firm, he has been instrumental in shaping KPF’s operational and organizational methodologies.
Mr. Greene has been responsible for managing several projects in Asia, including the Japan Railways Central Towers in Nagoya, Japan—the country’s largest towers with office, hotel and transit connection hub; and Niaga II, a high-rise office tower in Jakarta. Mr. Greene was Managing Principal for the Samsung Seocho complex in Seoul which contains office, hotel and retail components surrounding a public plaza. The project’s stunning design was recognized with the MIPIM Asia Awards, Business Centres Category Award (2009).
Mr. Greene is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He served as a member of the 2010 Nominating Committee for the AIA New York Chapter, and currently serves on the Chapter’s Finance Committee.
In addition, he has co-chaired the New York Building Congress’ Architects Advisory Committee and has also been a guest speaker for a number of organizations, presenting on topics such as “smart growth” for the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Mr. Greene is currently serving on the Leaders Council for the College of Design at North Carolina State University.
