Ryan Lee
About
Ryan Lee is concurrently the Group Director of National Biodiversity Centre (NBC), Group Director of Wildlife Management, and Senior Curator of Istana at the National Parks Board.
In his capacity as the Group Director of NBC, he coordinates the implementation of Singapore's Nature Conservation Masterplan, which systematically consolidates and strengthens biodiversity conservation efforts across Singapore through (i) habitat conservation and enhancement; (ii) species recovery; (iii) applied research; and (iv) community outreach.
In his role as the Group Director of Wildlife Management, Ryan oversees the management of wildlife in Singapore (e.g. wildboars, macaques, otters and pest birds), with a view to address human-wildlife conflicts and promote harmonious co-existence through science-based management, outreach and education. He also coordinates enforcement against illegal wildlife trade, such as the trafficking of ivory, pangolin scales and wildlife parts.
As the Senior Curator of Istana, he is responsible for the curation and upkeep of the gardens and open spaces within Istana.
