Seth Ellsworth
About
Seth believes in the traditional role of the architect as “master builder”, with working knowledge of all aspects of the design, engineering, and construction. His hands-on approach is informed by working in various construction trades and fabrication jobs prior to becoming an architect. He has practiced architecture in California for over ten years, across the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California.
Seth draws inspiration from local culture and regional architecture, in order to create projects that belong in their context. Always looking to advance his professional skills and knowledge, he seeks out creative professionals in other fields to learn from their unique challenges and solutions, and how that can be applied to contemporary architectural practice.
Seth studied architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he participated in a high-rise design studio for a site in Mumbai, sponsored by the CTBUH and taught by Director Antony Wood. Upon graduation, he worked for CTBUH assisting with publications and events. His most recent tall building project, Chorus, is nearing completion in The Hub neighborhood of San Francisco.
