For Simon, being an experienced mechanical engineer means more than just applying his impressive technical abilities to a project. He makes a point of meeting with, and understanding, the needs of all stakeholders to find out how a building is actually going to be used and allowing that information to optimize the design. Throughout all stages of a project, from space planning and plant selection to design, construction, and “crossing the finish line commissioning”, his focus is on delivering a final product that meets client expectations (and budgets). This collaborative leadership style has contributed to successful projects in a wide range of market sectors, including high-rise office developments, complex transportation projects, recreation facilities, and P3 projects across Canada. In addition to providing mechanical expertise that is trusted and respected by clients and colleagues alike, Simon shares his extensive knowledge as an impactful mentor within S+A.
