About

Stefan Krummeck, Principal of Farrells, holds over 30 years of experience designing award-winning buildings, master plans and infrastructure-related projects that have shaped towns and cities throughout the world.

Stefan joined Farrells in 1988 in London and has led the company’s expansion in the Asia Pacific region since 1992. He drives the procurement of new work and is instrumental in designing and developing the office’s largest and most complex projects. Stefan built up the Farrells Australasia business with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Australia.

His passion for sustainable, transport-oriented, density resulted in a multitude of mixed-use human scale habitats including the Chelsea Waterfront, One Excellence and Citic Shanghai Shipyard. The firm is championing large-scale, strategically complex master planning such as Greenwich Peninsula in London, the competition winning Beijing CBD and Shougang Industrial Park.

Stefan was in charge of West Kowloon Cultural District Development Plan and delivered the new cutting-edge M+ Museum. He is currently designing the new Science and History Museums in TST East. Recognizing the contributions in thought leadership of urban planning, he was appointed to develop Hong Kong’s Urban Design Guidelines.

Passionate about city-making, Stefan believes in the potential of mixed-use and transit-oriented development to help transform cities into vibrant, sustainable communities which offer round-the-clock urban vitality.
