Steve Rys
About
Steve Rys, P.E., is a licensed structural engineer and embodied carbon specialist within Nucor's Construction Solutions team. With over 13 years of experience in large-scale design and construction, he now focuses on delivering sustainable steel solutions for complex structures like stadiums, airports, and tall towers. Steve serves on the Board of Directors for the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY) and actively participates in the Sustainable Design Committees for the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) and SEAoNY, as well as the Sustainability Committee for the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI). Before joining Nucor, he worked at WSP’s New York City office. He holds a master’s degree from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.
