About

Kam is a Business Director in Structural Engineering with over 16 years professional experience across projects in New Zealand and Singapore across various market segments. In additional to his structural engineering expertise, he brings to the project team a focus in innovation, sustainability and digital innovations. He has led teams to deliver structural solutions for new build design projects and structural retrofit and alterations of existing buildings with project values up to $750m. His recent major projects include the University of Auckland’s Recreation and Wellness Centre and B201 Social Science Building Adaptive Reuse 6 Green Star Development, New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), SKYCITY’s Horizon Hotel and Marina One Mixed Development in Singapore.

Kam brings a strong ability to integrate multi-disciplinary requirements into the structural design and a thorough understanding of cost and programme issues to generate pragmatic structural solutions. His structural expertise ranges from long span structure, tall building, bridges to interior design engineering and building services support structure. He was the 2019 FIDIC Young Professional of the Year, the 2018 ACENZ Future Leader Award winner and a finalist in the 2014 New Zealand Young Engineer of the Year. He has obtained his Bachelor of Engineering with Honours / Bachelor of Commerce in Economics in 2006 and PhD in 2011, all from University of Canterbury.
