About
Yi Zhu is a Managing Principal at Thornton Tomasetti, overseeing the firm’s operations in the Pacific Rim. A graduate in civil engineering from Tongji University and City College of New York, Yi has over three decades of experience in structural analysis, design, construction, and project management for a variety of building types. His portfolio includes several of the world’s tallest buildings -- Shanghai Tower, Ping An Finance Center, Taipei 101, and the Petronas Twin Towers. Other notable landmarks include One Shenzhen Bay, the Tencent Tower in Guangzhou, and One Museum Place in Shanghai. Recently, Yi has been leading the structural design for the 489-meter-tall Chengdu Tianfu Tower and the 500-meter-tall Suzhou Zhongnan Center.
