About

Yuko Akiyama is the chief architect of Takenaka Corporation’s five design divisions. For over fifteen years, she has worked on a wide range of design projects, including the construction of offices, shrines, showrooms, dormitories, rental housing, and residential condominiums. Among her projects, the Yotsuya TN Building, Tokyo (2011) was selected as a showcase by the Architectural Institute of Japan, and the Leafia Residence Seijo, Tokyo (2019) earned her a Good Design Award. Recently, she has proactively pursued the architectural design of timber-based construction.
