Junjie Zhang was born on August 2nd 1963 in Shanghai. He graduated with Bachelor’s Degree from the Architecture School of Tsinghua University in 1986, and received the MBA degree from Ohio State University in 2006. He started working as an architect for East China Architectural Design & Research Institute (ECADI) in 1986 and now he currently holds the position of President and Chief Architecture of ECADI.

Mr. Zhang is a First Grade Registered Architect, a Professor Senior Engineer, and the senior member of the Architectural Society of China (ASC). He also serves as, among other posts, chairman of China International Exchange Committee for Tall Buildings under Architects branch of ASC, vice chairman of architectural design and theory writing committee, and vice chairman of Architectural Society of Shanghai. He successively worked as the chief architect for varieties of large scale public works and complexes, was the owner of first ASC Young Architects Awards, and won one Silver Prize for National Distinguished Designs, three Second Prizes in Distinguished Designs of Ministry of Construction and six First Prizes of Shanghai Municipal Distinguished Designs. Mr. Zhang was listed as Shanghai Leading Talent in 2004.
