The Council has been awarded a grant by the FURTHERMORE Grants in Publishing Program to support one of its most popular publications: the Tall Building Reference Guide.
The grant is earmarked to assist in the development of the CTBUH Reference Guide in 2012. The first edition of the guide was published in 2010. The grant will help the CTBUH continue its ongoing mission to disseminate information about buildings and the built environment throughout the world.
CTBUH Executive Director Antony Wood expressed his appreciation for the assistance stating:
“We are excited to be able to develop an updated CTBUH Reference Guide for the public during 2012 and very grateful to FURTHERMORE Grants In Publishing for recognizing the unique contribution that our publications provide to understanding one of the most visible and iconic features of cities – tall buildings!”
Because of the support from the FURTHERMORE Program, the planned updated CTBUH Reference Guide will offer new features and will be a vastly improved and expanded publication from the previous guide. The first edition of the guide quickly established itself as a useful tool for building enthusiasts as well as professionals to examine global trends in tall building development. The first edition sold out within six months. The new guide’s various studies and feature articles will offer an easy-to-use format that captures statistical information as well as narrative descriptions of significant tall buildings all in one place.
